Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. Her work has been recognized for television and in film from the mid-80s onwards, she's won numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett, who was raised in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt following her birth to New York New York, is well-known as an actor. As Bassett was five years old the family were moved into St. Petersburg, Florida to stay with their mother who was been divorced from her father. Bassett decided to be an actress after she saw the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. In 1980, Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by The Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. In African-American Studies, 1981. Graduate in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her main roles, Ramonda, in the action adventure film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
